HART K9: HIGHLY TRAINED DETECTION DOGS

“K9 have instilled in the embassy a high level of comfort and confidence that the first line protection of embassy facilities and staff is being well managed. Their responsiveness and courage in dealing with the unpredictability of explosive detection in a hazardous environment cannot be understated. It is a difficult and dangerous job and the HART K9 teams do it extremely well.”

Norman Brown, First Secretary, Regional Security Adviser, Australian Embassy, Kabul

  • Narcotic detection
  • Search & rescue
  • Patrol/tracking (K9 Protection)

K9 Training: K9 handlers participate in a six-week handler course and all have a background in military or police service. The K9 teams are certified to U.S. Military working dog programme standards (Army regulations 190-12). All working dogs are specifically selected and tested for each contract in order to ensure the most suitable Explosive Detection Dogs (EDDs) for the security of our clients and their assets.

Our Standards Our QA/QC programme ensures that the K9 teams continue to maintain the highest standards throughout the course of a contract. This includes monthly training reports, quarterly field assessments by a supervisor, after action/incident report documentation and 12-month re-certification for all K9 teams. Training is conducted with the EDDs on a daily basis which is recorded and submitted monthly to management.
